Hand Painted Shoes for Olukai X Pow! Wow! Hawaii

Here's a few custom painted shoes we did for an Olukai x Pow! Wow! Hawaii collaboration. It was fun to paint on shoes again. Roxy has a pair of these shoes and they are so very comfy!

Almond Surfboards Contest Entry

Almond Surfboards hosted a contest for a free custom surfboard. Contestants had to explain which surfboard they wanted, what type of adventure they would take it on, where they would go and who they would take with them. We chose the Log Rhythm board, and decided to make a short film.

The video was shared on the Almond Surfboards blog, and Matt was chosen as the winner! We are really excited to be getting one of their beautiful hand-shaped longboards!

The entry was shot by our good friend Anthony Vallejo-Sanderson at our art workshop in Lana Lane Studios.

Treehouses at Kokua Market

During the weekends over the past month we have worked on a mural for Kokua Market in Honolulu. It was a great experience not only to share our artwork, but also to interact with people in the community. We were really blessed to have so many people encourage us and stop by just to say Hi!

Our sustainable treehouse scene includes a house with solar panels, a house with a green roof, and a our first ever storefront, which is a treehouse version of Kokua Market.

Of course we didn't forget to add our signature skateboard ramps and surfboards! 

This landscape was painted with some major fun in mind!

Congratulations to Kahi Pacarro of Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii for his interview on CNN! 

Sustainable Coastlines is a local nonprofit that works to clean the beaches and 

educate the community about plastic that ends up in the ocean.

We're in Juxtapoz!

So happy and humbled to see our name included with such amazing artists in the newest issue of Juxtapoz Magazine! Being a part of Pow Wow Hawaii was an amazing experience and we are grateful for the awesome people that we have met and the great press that we have received on our mural! 

Vers & Two Crows Surfboards

Aloha Monday! We visited the Two Crows surfboards workshop to start a drawing- on Matt's new board! Nick Welles, who glasses the boards, has his own artistic style and puts a lot of fun colors into the boards (which makes for a great background). We'll post a photo of the finished board when it's complete, until then you can check out the playful boards of Two Crows Surfboards here.

Live Painting at ConTempo 2013

We had a great time last night painting live at the fundraiser for the Honolulu Museum of Art!

Artists were paired with local clothing designers, and we painted on a white aloha shirt. We decided to paint Kalo (taro, the Hawaiian staple food) with overlapping ripples of water, and added blue stripes to the pocket to give it a contemporary feel. You can see the five final pieces worn by models to show them off to guests- the garments were auctioned off at the end of the night!

ConTempo 2013

Sketching out an idea for the live painting we'll be doing on this beautiful Tori Richard's aloha shirt! It's happening on Saturday at ConTempo, the annual Honolulu Museum of Art fundraising gala! This final piece of wearable art will be auctioned at the end of the night to benefit the museum :)

Our "Tools of the Trade" shirt in Bali

We finally made a surf rack in the Vers studio to store our boards! 

Lucky for us the ocean is just a short walk away, now we're all set for the South swells!

 We're so happy and grateful for the positive reactions we've gotten for our mural! Pictures of our mural were posted on several high-profile blogs, including BOOOOOOOM, Juxtapoz Magazine, and Grafuturism.  We had to pinch ourselves, to make sure we weren't dreaming! ;)
