On The News!

Mahalo to KITV for promoting the August Moon Fundraiser at the Honolulu Museum of Art! I had a fun time drawing with Solomon Enos and Cade Roster, can't wait until Friday when it's all 28 of us together!

Photo Board

 Let's hula! Our latest project was painting a wooden board for a wedding, 

so that guests could take fun photos as a momento. We made one of these for our own wedding, so we were excited to do it again! The awesome couple, Dawn and Kalei, gave us an idea of what they wanted, and from a sketch we expanded it to be life-size. It's great to work with people who can give us a direction but also allow for the freedom to paint in our own style!

Here you can see the figures coming to life, they just need some tropical color!

The finished board is propped up so that guests can take pictures during the reception.

We're so happy that we got to be a part of their special day!!

August Moon Fundraiser

    The August Moon fundraiser at the Honolulu Museum of Art is only a week away! We will be drawing live with other artists, and all pieces will be sold for $25 to benefit arts education. This is a great way to collect a small piece of art from some of Hawaii's most prominent artists! Let us know if there is anything you think we should draw, or to make a special request!

Sunday Funday

On Sunday we had a day full of adventures. 

To celebrate Earth Day, we started off with a beach clean-up at Makapuu!

The event was organized by Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, who also sponsored a concert and fair at Sea Life Park! Matt and I hadn't been there since we were kids, so it was fun to watch the dolphin show and see all the other sea creatures.

While we were in Waimanalo, we ate at Serg's Mexican Kitchen.
 A stop at the skate park made us crave something sweet, so we ended the day with shave ice at Island Snow! Oh yeahhh!

A big mahalo to GREEN Magazine for featuring Vers in their Art Issue! They chose a photo from our shoot with Dallas Nagata White Photography and gave it a full page! Sweeeet!

It's.... Board Meeting Monday! Beat the Monday blues by checking out our fun weekly sketches. Here is our first holiday-inspired board, the Easter Egg! This is the egg I would love to find in a basket ;) Hope your Easter was egg-cellent!

Painting at a Pop-Up Restaurant!

Artists in the house! The Greenhouse that is! On Saturday we had a live painting session as part of a pop-up restaurant in Kakaako. It was a collaboration between Off-Menu Catering, Miso & Ale, Off-Premise, and HUBurban. Gavin from Reckon Shop organized the artists, and we had a nice table to set up on. Matt and I started two paintings on wood, inspired by tree houses and river boats!

At the end of the night, five guests each won a Vers giftbag that included

the "You're Swell" notecards, a gift certificate, and our "Off Da Grid" print!

This is how far we got on the paintings that night, still some work to do...
